Saudi Global Ports (SGP), in partnership with the Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani),
announced the development of a 1 million square meter Integrated Logistics Zone within
King Abdulaziz Port, Dammam (KAPD).
Strategically located within KAPD and seamlessly connected to SGP’s inland rail-linked
assets and road transport solutions, SGP Freezones, operating as the Dammam Integrated
Logistics Zone (DILZ), is designed to support import, export, re-export, value-added
services, and light manufacturing and assembly activities.
SGP Freezones is aligned with the ambitious goals of Saudi Vision 2030, positioning the
Kingdom as a leading global hub for logistics and manufacturing.
Development of 1.1 million sqm of port land into a state-of-the-art logistics hub
Customs-bonded facilities, with the flexibility to operate unbonded services such as B2C operations
Grade A Customs bonded warehouses and modern cold storage capabilities
A strong focus on sustainability, including the use of hybrid and electric equipment and solar panel integration
Comprehensive infrastructure development by SGP, with partial delivery of superstructures
This landmark initiative will significantly enhance the range of services available within KAPD and further consolidate its role as a critical trade and logistics gateway for the region.
Phase 1 of the development is scheduled for completion by the second half of 2027. At this point, all groundworks and infrastructure will be completed, and 40 percent of the planned facilities will be delivered. SGP will also begin logistics operations through its own distribution center and container yard. Alongside SGP’s efforts, third-party developers opting for long-term lease solutions will commence the development and operation of their own facilities within the zone.
